In a pitch, Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann scored with idea full of animated recyclates.

When you hear the word plastic, the first thing that comes to mind is usually pollution and waste. But thanks to recycling, old plastic can be turned into new packaging again and again. And that is precisely the mission of Forum Rezyklat, an association of 47 members (Beiersdorf, dm, Globus, Happybrush, Henkel, Procter & Gamble, Rossmann, Vöslauer, and many more) from Germany and Austria, consisting of retailers, manufacturers, waste disposal and recycling companies that work together to promote sustainable recycling. The Forum Rezyklat was initiated by dm-drogerie markt in 2018 and considered to be an agile alliance.

The Forum was searching for a communication concept that exemplifies this through a pitch. Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann / DMB. convincingly portrayed an idea that focuses on plastic itself and follows it on the entire recycling journey.

A film surrounding the complex topic of proper plastic recycling uses plastic as its foundation. In a unique 3D animation, the recycled granulate comes to life and leads, constantly morphing, through the history of the modern recycling economy. This illustrates, in an easy-to-understand way, what recyclates are, what role they play in the circular economy, and how they are sourced.

The image film, which gets to the heart of the sustainable mission in an eye-catching way, was implemented together with bounty studios and is currently being shown online by Forum Rezyklat and its partners.
